workshop and reshearch

Writer: lpillalpilla

After effects workshop with Abbie.

The workshop showed us how to mask and give an effect to text.

The third years showed us how to place an MP4 file onto a an image of an advert space to make our work look realistic.

You basically use the Corner Pin tool to distort the Video file into place.

I know this was helpful as we have to place our outcome on site. (Waterloo)

A painting and drawing I created peak Abbies interest as it linked to the consequences of love.

I vectorised my drawing.

The anatomy in the drawing is correct. I do not feel as if this illustrates the play, but it does illustrate the consequences of love, as I could create an animation of the heart beating and getting faster then withering away to death.

The middle image I used for a moon board I created.

I looked at the series of photographs that the she created. They represent constraint, fragility and despair.

The bodies are nude and covered in mesh as it allows the red thread to stand out. This is something I love as the bodies seem to be constraint yet it is not overtaking the entire body.

The use of red thread is something I want to depict. It represents both love and fate, which are key themes in the play. I do however, want to incorporate death as I am working with the idea of love and death.

April Greiman.

In my moon boards I was looking at collaging and layering text and images.

I found this piece of work from designer April Greiman.

The main subject is a girl. You can clearly see her face .

The overlaying of the colour blue within squares allow the image to not be just black and off white.

The shapes created behind the main image of the girl creates an interesting effect through the use of lines and shape and text.

The text wraps around the subject head.

It is also horizontal and vertical.

I want to try and incorporate this idea of shape, colour and warp text in my work.

To overlay and create some chaos yet order to make my outcomes appear crazy but have a method to them.
