Preparing for our video

Writer: lpillalpilla

As our group was too big, we were split and a new group formed.

My new group consisted of Larry and Huda.

As a group we created some storyboards for our initial ideas.

We wanted to capture the essence of the place. How it would feel as if someone from the area was showing you, whats up.

We recorded alot of footage as a team.

We all went to visit our location three times to gather the shots we wanted.

we reviewed everyones footage.

I shortened down Steve speech. creating the body and narrative of our film.

We each created our own little film with the footage we each had and then presented our ideas to each other. With this we opened up the conversation of what we wanted our group vision to be.

combing all of our footage was a tricky task between a mac laptop and a dell as the hard drive wouldn't recognise a different system.

We placed all the footage onto one laptop so we could edit it more effiently and with one straight narrative.

Finding music to go with the film.

Huda looked at some candidates for our background music.

Larry chose the music which instrumental bambam by: sister nancy.

Music is important to the film as it sets the rhythm and we have to sync the imagery with the sound to make sure it comes across smoothly.

The music, timing and footage.

We edited everything in after effects.

STEVE.

As we were filming and interviewing a shop owner in Peckham, a man walked in a loud and a passion radiating from himself.

This is when we met Steve.

Steve gave us a narrative, with his own experience of growing up in the area.

An insight into how Peckham has changed throughout the years. We originally interviewed him for an hour gaining personal anecdote to events that occurred in Peckham such as the riots.

As I went back to our long footage, I had to cut it down and just pull out the highlights and edit the footage to show people what Peckham is about.
