Album cover project

We chose to go with 'everything must go' in the sense of a detox.
out with the old you and into the new growth. This came about from looking at lyrics of some of the bands songs such as blurryface, where the songs talks about insecurities and being with ones own thoughts.
Their graphics seem bold with the use of only a few set of primary colours.
A strong red, a yellow.
The use of limited colour makes you think of how you can use the negative space to also convey something.
With the dark theme of death to re birth something, to looking at how they have used their graphics in the past to gain the knowledge of their style.

We were not allowed to use images of the artist, which in this case is okay.
The artwork for the band has been quite graphicy.
Looking at their colour palette especially for their last album I chose to go with a bold yellow colour.
looking at taro cards and how we look at death as something far away, when it is apart of natural life.
From the moment you take your first breath, one thing is for certain, you will die.
Why not enjoy the life you have now because it is all we ever get to know and experience, because nothingness can also mean death.
The background use of the bands logo to also symbolise a sun, behind a skeleton looking into a skull.
Its looking at its life, at what it once was and hat is was going to become.
To find the beauty in life and the amazing aspects of it is a journey.
Feed back.
They thought we could play with the idea of the melting more. Sort of like melting candle wax.
The idea of printing an images and then melting could be one to work with.
We should have refined our interpretation, as we looked too much at what was already there.
Possibly using a 3D printer to create a melting effect.
Working back on the feedback I chose to illustrate a candle.

Then minimising it more.

I then played with the idea of melting with an action.
I wanted to use, yellow, blue and red. As they seem to be prominent colours.

The images look better on a black background, as the colours tends to be sucked in by the black.
